Hot Rods HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR SPEEDO?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Montana1, Mar 29, 2020.

  1. I admit I'm a little goofy at times, but I started taking pictures of the Hot Rod Speedo right after I got it running, just for fun and documentation. That was about 13-14 years ago.

I can't seem to find the earlier pictures, but somewhere I have pictures at 32 miles, 3200 miles, 32,000 miles, 50,000 miles, 77,777.7 miles, and now 100,000 miles.

Here's the ones I took just recently at 100,000 miles...

  6. I admit that I did take a pic of my OT truck speedometer when it hit 300,000.
Sold it right before it got to 350,000.:)

should hold a newspaper along with dash pic to show date when you achieved these important numerical changes on odometer - oil pressure changes too

  14. I'd have to look for the picture my wife took as the old rod turned 100k as we were on the way from Pueblo to Denver in 2010(?).

  18. It's a little hard to look at the speedo, find the historical marker and click a picture all at once on a fly-by, but I think I might be able to do it next time. ;)

  21. Sometimes people ask me how fast it goes and my pat answer is:
I don't know, I get tunnel vision after about 100!

Nothing to show in my coupe. I rebuilt the T-10 and forgot to put the speedometer drive gear back on the output shaft. :(

  28. I was telling a guy at the cruise-in the other night about this strange phenomenon, and he said he took pics of his at all 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7's and he now has 81,000 on it.
I can't top that one!

  30. No sir.

This was on one of the early All Deuce Runs and I was the last car and as we made the short run up the interstate I got separated because of a accident at the stop light, I was hustling to get caught up, Brenda snapped the photo and I had no idea of how fast I was driving, I knew I was hauling arse but I had no idea I was going that fast.

When I saw the speedometer reading as I was down loading photo's I realize just how stupid it was. HRP
