    I do all the work except trans and upolstery. The lone Ranger, 4 carb Stude engine. Can't show the cab. 3 pictures of the Chevy PU. Took me 18 months to build. img337.jpg img210.jpg img196.jpg img114.jpg img091 - Copy.jpg img171.jpg GOODSGUYS PACKARD 018.JPG autobarn4.jpg the LONE RANGER 007.JPG _pickup_rear_quarter_z - Copy.jpg _side_ - Copy.jpg _1944_chevy_FRONT - Copy.jpg img379.jpg

Two (unless hot rod is defined as pre war), both of 'em in the avatar (although the primer red Stude is now black and has glass:) Neither as nice as the aforementioned:(

0 built from scratch for me, several race cars, Midget/Sprint, but I bought pro built chassis kits, components, so it was like putting together big erector sets. Dennis, As Always your work is outstanding, you are a true Craftsman, very few can compare to your fab skills.

Until I was 65 (or so) my cars were a team effort or a commitee effort, about that time I became proficient enough to do most work my self , still needed help with engine internal trans/work and advanced interior work. Rust, body work, finish work, frame work, I could pretty much handle, I even became able to get predictable paint results. I consider my self a home builder who has a lot of good prefessional buddys, thanks to them and a lot of personnal advice, I do OK. Bill Rinaldi

I have 2 hot rods that I own and can drive right now that I built from scratch, that are titled to me. There is a 3rd one started (titled in my name) that has been delayed because of other peoples projects. None are anywhere near the level that has been shown previously.

If you count the ones I've built and drove for several years, that no longer belong to me, that number jumps up to around 15. Then add the rides I've build for and with my son for his pleasure.

Then I was a car owner in the hobby class at our local dirt track, 20 years, 15 brand new drivers, 15 years in the top 10 in points for our class. I built all those cars, and a few of those years required 3-4 "new" cars for the season. Sometimes new drivers are pretty tough on cars. For a several year run, 5 or more of the guys running in the late model class got their start in racing in my car.
I've been pretty productive building these racers and drivers over the years. Gene

Uh oh... a thread for only the truly prolific builders. No "What's your favorite color? BS.
    LOL

I and I'm sure a few others are not worthy to post on this thread.
    Eventually, maybe.

Much respect for our first string team. Carry on...

  23. Starting from the first post, this thread looks like an advertisment for Carolina Hot Rods. No? The OP's second picture is his business card!

  24. Maybe so but Dennis is a legend way before building hot rods. Built the most amazing late model stock cars. Rusty wallace. Darrel Waltrip. Allan Kulwicki. & many many more of the best ever drove his cars. Always way ahead of his time. Oh @ Dennis is not a young man but out works many a lot younger than himself.
