    I know the feeling.

I may have accidentally purchased a 6-71 for one of my 354's this week.

Ain't no Hemi like a blown Hemi.

I've accidentally bought a lot of stuff by drinking a little to much and going on eBay.

Today I accidentally milled out a boost referencing 6-71 to Edelbrock carburetor (design thanks to @ago ), at work.

Don't worry, it will be deburred, dressed with a file, and all non sealing surface sandblasted, so it looks cast.

I still need to counterbore the case bolt holes, if I can find my damn counterbores.

Gimpy, You probably know this already. Make sure you epoxy the secondary vacuum notch of the carb. It lets the vacuum source the power valve metering ports of the carb. You want to isolate the metering port from the intake manifold. The end result is have the power valves of the carb get its signal from below the blower. I used a 4 hole carb gasket and punched two small holes under the metering port.

My intake manifold had 8 holes, I cross drilled the two metering holes, and connected a 1/8" pipe fitting and ran tubing down to the blower manifold.

Yup, I learned it from you!

I made mine open center, in case I want to up the carburetor size. I looked up the biggest Edelbrock, and sized it for that.

I will cut a stack of custom gaskets on the laser cutter at work.

Ok I'm at a loss with that one. What is "lawn guy land". This was once all farm land and occasionally there's a surviver. But now it's all vineyards and tourism if that's what you mean LOL.

Got this 331 (bored .030 over) as a short-block and heads assembled but not together.
Supposedly it was built by a gentleman that was going to put it in a Model T.

Did the 340SB oil pump & distributor conversions. Hooked it up to a rebuilt 727 using HotHeads adapter.
Built a test stand and got it running. Sounds great, but might consider a different carb than the Edelbrock I got off eFlay
Got it sitting in the engine bay of the '40 Chrysler Royal (car in the avatar); just need to nail it down.

Love some of the other HEMIs on here. They're a great engine. I don't think the engineers at Chrysler knew quite what they had engendered at the time.

I gave up looking for my counterbores and dropped it off at my machinist, after work. He's going to finish it off tomorrow.

There is a guy out my way, selling a pair of bare Chrysler Hemi truck heads, for $150.

    Does anyone need them?

Hot heads oil pump with 37,000 miles on it. Note the wear on the non-hardened shaft. Nothing to do w/ alignment, it simply isn't hardened like the original shaft that used to be in the 340 pump before HH removed it and substituted a chrome-moly shaft, instead. Mellings stresses the fact the oil pump drive be hardened when using a high volume pump. Now you can see why.

    DSC_3383-a.jpg
This pump failed at 1,800 miles because the bolts weren't all tightened down correctly when HH put the pump back together after replacing the shaft.
2 were loose, one fell out.

BTW, 5 people were standing around watching as the oil pan came off and the missing bolt was found in the bottom, thus, prompting a search for it's origin. (see previous photo)
