Anybody out there have shots from the past showing the old haulers or whatever way you got your racer to the strip? When I was a kid, it was a thrill to come up on some weekend worriers heading down the Hi-Way......anybody else????
Steamer , your post just tuged on my memorys of the days I would tow my car to South Side Speedway through down town Richmond Va, to get there. man I wouldn't think of doing that today. Only the big buck guys had trailers back in the 50s and 60s.All us po boys used tow bars....sorry that I don't have pics..
Mid 70's-- 72 Ford pickup complete with a camper (even though I had to borrow it from my dad), good trailer (no rotten wood in the floor). Life was good. Larry T
I had totally forgotten about the towbar days. A lot of guys would tow their drag cars to the strip with tow bars. Ahh the good ol'days.
