Hey all, went to a model car show put on by stickshift here on the HAMB tonight. Here are some pictures I took from the show. Really sorry I can't put some names with the models, there were some real cool ones there, but none were from me, these guys have some talent.
    Lots of pictures. :D

I agree that there is some incredible work done here. However, for my two cents, this is a car board, not a modeling board, and we should stick to working on acutal cars. Not my decision to make though, just an opinion.

Here's a three window Deuce I finished up this week. It's built from the common "GoodGuys" kit by Revell, with a bone stock Chevy 265 two barrel V8 and three speed stick from a 1955 Chevy Cameo pick-up kit in place of the 302 Ford/AOD combo that comes in the Deuce kit.

The wheels are Rodlite types taken from the Revell/GoodGuys 40 Ford kit.

I got a 32 five window project in the works right now, and a Deuce roadster soon after.

Been on a 32 kick lately it seems!

It's not an art board either. Or a music board. And as long as the models posted are traditional, I think you need to keep your 2 cents in your pocket.

  14. Always some jackass with a negative opinion,

I like to work on a project in styrene before I start cutting metal.

Also, I enjoy the Model cars every sunday, if you don't then why click.

Don't get too mad, I know they're not traditional hot rods/kustoms but I hope you'll appreciate the fact that they're scratch built. I just bend up Evergreen tubing and sheet styrene. This one has working coil overs (made from 1/4" Craftsman ratchet springs)

Thanks to Gene (50dodge 4x4) for the pics. Thanks for the comment Fidgiter and everyone else. And thanks to everyone who came to my Pizza and Plastic night. There were about 6 or 8 HAMBers there too. Most of the guys there own and drive or are building a traditional rod. Well maybe 75% of them.
This show theme was Surf or Drag. Just thought some would want to know. :) Thanks

Here's a few more of a IMCA modified I did recently. It's mostly scratch built. It actually has adjustable ride height and moving suspension like the late model.

Here is some more I took. There was more than just plastic too. There was some old memoriablia there too. Rod had a very interesting flier from MoKan dragway in 1968. I forgot to take a pic of that.:( It had a pic of the Lil Red Wagon on it.

Keep the "model car Sunday" posts coming. These guys have as much, or more, vision and talent than some builders of 1/1 scale cars on here.............just my opinion............Mike

Thanks for posting. I bet that many of the folks on this board around my age (mid 50's) started with model building before graduating to the real thing. I still like to build the occasional model and admire the work of those with more talent than I have. Keep 'em coming.

I'm 50 years old. I got my first model car when I was six. Forty-four years later, it is impossible for me to go into a Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby without going by the model section. I have a closet filled with unbuilt kits that I'm "gonna get around to building someday!" Only problem is, I can't see as well as I used to, nor can I manipulate my fingers as well, either! I am continually amazed at the creativity and talent that go into model building these days.

Not sure, but it looks to me as though the Mopar clearly has the GTO in the last photo? :D That shut down area was pretty short....

Scott, it was a lot of fun, looking forward to the spring show. I really am going to get one of my "models" there some time.
