Yes after the new engine and trans go in and you do the brakes it should be fine. Unless it was drag raced the rear diff should not need replacement.

Found this today, good way to start the new year off! 34 cabriolet, put money down on, going back in 2 weeks to pick it up. No engine or tranny but other wise complete. Quarters and rockers need fixed but really a nice solid body. Still has the original interior! IMG_20180101_130506.jpg IMG_20180101_130540.jpg IMG_20180101_130517.jpg

This 34 five window came out of a barn in northern Alberta in 2014. Now being built as a fenderless image-1.jpeg highboy with a Buick nailhead and Cad-Lasalle trans.

I tried to get it running...it was free but got no bang bang...I moved the chassis with the starter to the side of the barn. I had my mind set however. Yeah its only money...lots of it. Reality is sometimes challenging to figure out...I'm very happy you got it Fitness...;)

You know if I had the dough and I don't I would love to have a hopped up banger A...I am sure they are a ton of fun...some day....

  13. A buddy got this ( I helped) 36 Chev out of a small barn that also held a 38 Plymouth sedan. That was almost 40 years ago. JW

This one sat sideways in the doorway opening of a rural Texas carport serving as an all-weather windbreak for the owner's outdoor "man cave" for many, many years before he passed away. It was once a really nice street rod, believe it or not, with dropped axle, juice brakes, nice paint and full upholstery. I bought it from the guy who screwed the widow out of it. Not a pretty story, but at least the body now has a good and appreciative home as the Arin Cee Roadster. The chassis is now under a Brookville Roadsters body and is being offered for sale here on the HAMB. This is one "barn find" that didn't get away this time!

  16. image.jpeg Found this one sitting beside a barn where it was sitting for a couple decades.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with it, but had to have it.
I bet I've built 6-8 of these trucks as model kits when I was a kid, just loved the look of these trucks.
So far it's been yard art at the cottage.
Yes, that cup is full of Rye & Coke!

My barn find '39 Pontiac gasser coupe:
First pic is as found where it sat since 1972...original front sheetmetal was sitting on it here, fiberglass frontend was in the barn
Second pic is at my shop after a clean up, and the 'glass frontend installed
Last pic is from when it was originally built in '65

Just got this last week at a farm sale that was held outside in -11 degrees weather. It had been in the old farm garage since 1967. Completely original. All I know so far is that it rolls and steers! IMG_5173.JPG

Wow! That thing looks like it is complete AND in exceptional condition! Great score! Please keep us posted as you get it cleaned up and fired up.

  21. I guess this old race car was in a basement. I actually found it right where it sits, but the guy that has it found it parked in a basement beside a '57 Corvette road racer.

I think that actual "barn finds" are getting pretty rare, lots of behind the barn or out in a field, or old shed or garage.

That i woody12.JPG s exactly what I am doing. Washing the windows and oiling some hinges, leaving it just like I got it. Still dont know if the motor is stuck yet. Pulled all the plugs and shot some mystery oil into the cylinders. Its going to be for sale soon regardless if the motor is free or stuck!

Answered an old fashioned classified ad in the newspaper in Sept. '17. Been sitting in a barn since '78. Putting back together now and looking forward to the return of this '39 as rolling stock.
