YOU GOT TO DRIVE THEM
My 1957-58 pics from Sweden.
Great looking car, and I'm gonna have Del Shannon in my head the rest of the day.
When I was in high school I rotated driving between my dads 58 Ford custom and my mothers white Cadillac that's parked on the other side of the blue pickup.
This is the same 58 custom from the first pic several years later. Daily driver. 390/4spd.
Same car several years later and after being sold twice. This was taken in Salina, Ks. during the KKOA Spectacular in 05. Clogged fuel filter. After suffering a minor engine fire. not long after returning from this trip, the car now resides under a large magnolia tree with the hood half open. I've talked with the current owner and I'm planning a rescue for it.
Right out of high school I built this Fairlane. It was actually purchased as a parts car for the red and black Custom 300 but turned out to be a pretty decent car so I put a 390/c4 in it and drove the hell out of it. I eventually stripped it to build a 57 2dr Fairlane that never got finished. I sold this car, bought it back, and a few months ago I sold it back to the guy that bought it and sold it back to me lol.
Pic taken at Indy, probably 1993.
Is this the car that Rad Rides built for Glide engineering?
I stand corrected, similar colors......probably the only similarity, lol. Thanks Sancho. That's a beautiful car at a very reasonable price.
Here's one from the Vintage Photo page. Since it says 245 HP on the hood the dual quads and superchargers had already been banned. Happened in early 1957.
Delicious looking. If this thing was frozen and had a stick coming out I'd probably lick it.
Current resting place of one of my old 58s.
Here's another one from the Vintage page.....
T A K E N O P R I S O N E R S.
True survivor car from the early sixties.
The Dixon Bros.
And his brothers Car..... Al Dixon,. just recently restored.
Mine had a few different touches so I'll post it here. Has been in Australia for one year now. I still have a nice louvered hood for one of these--if interested PM me.
Gives me chills- beautiful!
Is that Terry Denomme's blue wagon in the back ground?
Yes..... shots are from the ELTA Meet, London, the Big Go drags,St Thomas and Detroit....
I believe this photo is from Dawsonville. This bodystyle is my all-time favorite '57-'58, the Custom Tudor. I would love to find one as solid as this one appears to be.
^^^^ That is Outstanding sidevalve8ba^^^^^^^
Fairly sure I saw this Ford there several years ago. Seems like it was owned by an older gentleman. I believe it had the big Interceptor V8. Sure looked the sleeper.
Even Ol' DW of NASCAR fame got in on the act at one time.....
