    OK, time for some dumb questions.
    How much clearance between the tire and the front fender does there need to be? The fender will be spindle mounted.
    Some of the cycle front fenders have the leading edge a lot farther forward of the center of the tire, and some have that leading edge a ways behind the tire centerline, what would be the purpose for either concern, or was it just what looked right to the owner? Do the cycle fenders catch a lot of air under them? Also, the tire thread width on the front tires on my truck are almost 9" wide, is that too wide for a cycle fender style mounting? I'm sure I'll have more questions. Gene

    Nope...;) I will say do like the unbuttoned mismatched look however...Bigtime!

    I just gave those that are caught in the middle of Full OEM and Highboy a Vehicle to post their Hotrods without having to explain that it's sort of like this and so on...hope you are enjoying the Thread despite a few sour responses...

    I enjoy both looks I Highlighted in separate Threads and while similar are different...

    It never hurts to highlight and bring period looks front and center to inspire and educate those that may want to build an inspired Hotrod...

    A lot of Heavy Hitter's there...by saying that is not in any way to lessen the contributions of the lesser knowns but these were circulating in the Magazines and TV among other Visual vehicles that helped Spread the Gospel as The Boss so eloquently put it...

    Another Note of interest is the Full Color images of Any Vehicle from the Bygone Era Really takes on a whole new elevated light that is not realized in B & W despite both being incredibly Inspiring...

    @Stovebolt thanks for sharing...;)

    :rolleyes:...Holy Tiki Shifters Batman...:D

    I remember that Hemi Sedan from the Homogenized thread but I too draw a blank...

    @cactus1 that A Roadster 3rd pic down is one of my favorites...if I ever had another chance I'd like to clone it as is driven with passion...can you imagine the music out of those pipes...AND that's the first Visible Identifiable Cycle Front Fender in the thread on that RP as its not bobbed, perhaps the back is the rear one bobbed even...first year for this style front in HD is 1949

    Not sure about that roadster, but Stan Back's white roadster is a drag and lake racer.

  26. ................Not as far as I know, Stogy. Both of these guys are local, long-time Maryland hot-rodders. That's Joe Mack Shubert in the passenger seat and his good friend Ron Thorpe driving.

    Stogy, I didn't get to see Wayne Miller's Coupe in person, but Wayne and I got to be great friends. Sadly, we lost him almost a year ago, those that never met him, really missed out. Wayne's son Jeff, MAD-O-34, built a copy of his coupe, until I find a picture, here are a couple more with "Sickle Fender Fronts" . BTW, Stan Back is friend also, a wealth of info, and hoot to be around ! Jim Livingston.jpg WC8.jpg
