  1. Take your 'baggies' and leave the Speedo at home..... This IS a family event, after all!

It really isn't that far from Tacoma. 269 miles if you go over 410 and Chinook 289 if you go over Snoqualmie. I drove 120 miles, stayed for 5 hours and drove back putting 250 miles on my car Friday. Screenshot (317).png

It's on a trailer. So I guessed it's broken down and couldn't be driven?

You guys crack me up. As I stated before, my wife wanted AC on the 3.5 hour drive in 110 degree weather, so I put it on the trailer. I drive that car literally every day and put 13k miles on it last year alone. That ok? Or?

Having driven my daily 1998 "late model" OT black thing down there with no AC and only two windows that rolled down you have to be pretty full of yourself to give anyone a ration of crap for towing their rod with no AC to Pendleton last weekend. The outside temp gauge on my car cooled down to 114 5 miles out of town heading West on the freeway doing 75 Friday afternoon.

I didn't see any trailered Goodguys style tophy hunters in the bunch. I saw a bunch of cars that were trailered because that was the safest way to get them and the people with them there and back last weekend. Top that off 50 years of going to rod runs and car shows says that keeping the wife happy when she goes to shows with you beats the hell out of a pissed off wife that stays home all the time and never wants to go.

  8. My takeaways

    A. Move back to Tacoma (I don’t care if The Swiss is out of business or Pendleton is centrally located)
    · Average Temperature of Tacoma in July 76 vs Pendleton 90
    B. If you are set on Pendleton, pick a different month.
    C. Please do not park cars in a grid parking lot and avoid any areas that prohibit accessing the town we are in during the show. The fun part is when all the cars are in town cruising around and people can access the shops and watering holes.

And here are the few photos I took.

To trailer or not to trailer, that is a stupid question. We were there, where were the rest of you? I trailer my car, hell I had AC installed in my damn car trailer yesterday after that agonizing heat last week in Pendleton.

I typically stay in my trailer and now I have heat and cooling when I venture out. Don’t like that? I have a suggestion for you.

On a happier note, radiator repaired, polished, painted And re installed. Pics? Coming

They used an all lot of solder, as long as it doesn’t leak

it polished back up nice with mothers and a buff wheel. The radiator shop refuses to polish after many a holes complained about the finish. Whiners!

Trailered? Sometimes. Driven? Most of the time. Hot rod? All of the f’n time.

    See you on the road.
