So many on here have PMS. Piss and Moan Syndrome. Like Jack Nicholson said in the movie "Mars Attacks", why can't we all just get along. Happy New Year.
Some pics from Sweden.
Old # 12 sure does sit good.
That one looks like it was taken at the bottom of the hillclimb at A-Bombers Weekend
Black Road CC Stamford Conn.

Joe Potter's Olds powered A coupe note 57 Chevy hood used to fill the roof.
Great thread, Robert.
I love bare painted steel wheels.
Black. With chrome lug nuts.
That's my only opinion.
Fact is, I do remember them being run on the street, even into the 1960s.
It definitely sets the time frame.
And besides... then your hubcaps don't fall off anymore.
Okay, one more opinion.
About this photo you shared, @adam401
Poor composition, my ass.
The car, the photo, the feeling it evokes... pure hot rod nostalgia. Like a dream. Almost brings a tear to my eye. That's not an opinion. That's a fact.
Yes, I know many hot rods had hubcaps back then but there were also hot rods that didn't.
Hot rodding styles and trends differed depending on what part of the country they were in.
My dad is 72 he has told me stories about growing up, and around here no self-respecting high schooler would be caught dead with a set of hubcaps on his car.
My dislike of hubcaps was helped formed by my father, he often had to help his grandfather chase down the hubcaps off his 56 Cadillac (in 1958) after they had come off going down the road.
Great picture of an awesome execution of a true hot rod.
More than a few like these in my high school parking lot in 62-64.
Here is one 40ragtopdown posted on the Traditional Image Thread

REAL Hot Rod
I'll take 12 Coupes just like this one, a REAL Hot Rod driver and a drag racer too
Cool picture Glenn.
Thankyou Rickybop. Ive enjoyed your posts over these many years. A nod of approval from you is a feather in my hat for sure.
Really? Well that's one of the nicer things anybody's ever said to me here. Or anywhere. In fact... I think maybe you're bullshitin' me.
But oh YEAH, can't say enough about your coupe. Total time machine. The black and white photo of your car with nothing that I can see that says it wasn't taken in the 40s really takes a guy like me to a time and place I can only dream of. A time when an old coupe or roadster was likely available. A time when you got most of your parts from the junkyard. A time when I can imagine a car such as yours being driven too fast on a wide rural gravel road through the wooded hills, the flathead roaring, the car fishtailing slightly as the driver barely maintains traction through a long sweeping curve... uphill. He lost his hubcaps a long time ago and he doesn't care. LOL
I'm sure that any good hot rodder from those times past would also give a nod of approval.
"...a feather in my hat..."
Way better than any dumb trophy. We should start doing that. Your hat would look like an Indian headdress.
and the problem would be WHAT?!?!
I preferer small hub caps but I will excuse this photo!
