    Hello,

My wife and I usually take a short drive down the coast to check out the waves and beach locations. We have done it, since 1966 of being together and has been a part of our cruising So Cal lifestyle. During the whole pandemic changes, something was needed while the calming effect is/was always there, the serenity and ocean views help keep us stable. It gives one food for thought that something as nice as sandy beach and blue waters can be so calming and peaceful.

All along the coastal communities, there seems to be an abundance of old trucks in all stages of development. We have seen and taken photos of those old hot rod trucks we have seen in the communities, when we happen to be in the area. So, it was no surprise that last week, on our trip to the local beach to check out the big waves from the last swell to roll in to So Cal, a surprise awaited us across the street, on the way to the surf spot.

This old Ford truck could be in a half way mode, a complete patina mode and/or just a simple daily cruiser. If it is left out in the coastal communities, we know what the salt-infused air daily will do to the paint surfaces. So, if the patina look is what is the style, then the salt air will help keep it growing.

My wife is always on the look out for old cars and trucks. She happened to see it first, as I was concentrating on the ½ block away sharp turn to towards the beach. So, we turned around and took some photos to add to our collection of So Cal coastal pickup trucks in any portion of builds or a finished project.

One would think that because of So Cal being close to hot rod origins, that there would be more roadsters, sedans, and coupes. But, we have seen more trucks than any other style of hot rod. Work trucks? perhaps… this old Ford truck had newish wheels and tires. The rear tires were wider and maybe waiting for heavy duty work stuff that will be going into the pickup bed. Very little shiny stuff, otherwise. YRMV

Edited the wheels as they are not HAMB ERA. Will have HAMB ERA wheels in the spring.
