Another homemade distraction, kind of a 3D cartoon streamline/boat tail. About 15 inch wheelbase.

Came across this rubber band car Thought it would make a great project for
some one to build with there kids or grand kids looks like a simple build and
it wouldn't take much to change the body style
12" long 2 1/2" wide 8" from axle pin to front band mount
2 1/4" rear wheels 1 1/2" front First race starts when the second car is built
Just a suggestion why not get together with some buddies and build a bunch and
denote them to your local Toy for Tots or toy bank or whatever you have in your area

Have fun remember there for the kids

I posted these pics over on the "pedal car" thread a couple of years ago...not a pedal car...more of a toy;)

This was my one (and only) attempt at building a radio controlled car. Built entirely from scratch. It ended up being much slower than I planned...which was OK, because I really sucked at driving a RC car:eek::mad:

Here's what I initially cut up to make the body

Stamped 1967 in roman numerals. Made in Japan. With Marx emblem
Tonka made it without fenders also.
I can't find another Marx on the net.
I tried to get a photo , but the stamping is light and the reflection won't let it show up.
I've had it in the classifieds here since August. Maybe all those Nylints aren't , and nobody looked at stamping?

These 7 inch long Marx, tin friction, Hot Rods were made throughout the '60s...earlier ones were marked "LineMar" (Marx Japan), later ones were just "Marx".
They came in basically 4 color variations...Teal/tan roof, yellow/black roof, bright psychedelic/matching roof, and whiteish psychedelic/lavender roof. Hope this helps.

This belonged to my late brother inlaw. He probably unwrapped this around 1960 or '62. It's battery powered. I have to glue the windshield frame back on.

No I like the years of wear or I’m just lazy

    Sancho and down-the-road like this.
  25. So here is one of yesterday’s purchases. It is a Tonka trophie trapper, made in Japan. It was doing a wheel stand which I will admit helped with the sale. I first thought it was some sort of red baron toy. Not perfect, but will look good on the shelf. A68E7265-8183-43C7-AB43-6EBD2D176B5E.jpeg

  26. Here is the rear, not sure how it is supposed to work, might take out the two screws and investigate. 8470A7B1-A52D-4CC7-8980-8F306F85AC94.jpeg

  27. This is cool, toys were so great at one time. Is this the front with fins at the back, or is it some sort of crazy bonneville chopped speed machine.
