Hot Rod Toys

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by rbantique, Dec 5, 2010.

  1. A Boner, looks like you have a Revell H-59 Authentic Kit hot rod. The bottom box in the photo.

It was later marketed as the Back-Firing Hot Rod, that used a roll of caps, like the 2 red cars.

    Cool score by the way.

Mick, you're right. It's missing all the metal parts underneath though, but looks good on the shelf!

  6. I can't remember what I posted in the past. But this is a newer one. I redid this Mickey Mouse Hot Rod for my grandson for Christmas.:). Took these pictures yesterday.

  9. Like your Kidillac. I wish I had taken a before picture of mind. But it looked very much like yours. I restored it for my Daughter. It was the deluxe model and has chain drive, a working horn, and head and tail lights too. 427.jpg

  11. Here's my grandson Zack riding my battery powered Marx "Electric Sportster". Its from around 1958. (The car, not Zack, He's a 2012 model.)

  12. Yes, it's a Murray. There were three versions. The deluxe model had a battery powered outboard motor, lights, flag, and was called the Jolly Rodger. I have two decent originals, but not a Jolly Rodger.

  19. A slot car I've had since the Midway 60's. Dynamic "Made Hornet" balanced ball bearing motor, magnesium chassis with spring suspension and a drop front pick-up. I added the body recently, as the original vacuum formed body has seen better days. At the time was o 0304171703.jpg 0304171704a.jpg 0304171704.jpg ne of the fastest slot cars around!

  20. Speaking of slot cars, this is a very early (probably late 50's, no date on box) Tico racing set. The cars are battery powered and run in a slot track. The cars and track have never been removed from box.

  21. In the 40's Marx came out with the Overhead Crossover Speedway that had two windup racers that ran around a figure 8 track kinda like a slot track without a slot but a raised lip to keep the cars in their lane. I have several more racing sets if anyone is interested.

A slot car I just threw together. It's an American Line kit I've had for about 20 years. IMG_2176.JPG IMG_2177.JPG

I have some wood cars in my collection including a few I made during the winter months. A favorite is my wood version of the Mulholland Speedster.

Yes, I had some scrap in the basement, made some patterns and cut the pieces out. I bought the wheels as a craft store.
