"heads are decked" ... little wing it also means the trunk was shaved .
ie: nosed , decked , shaved , etc.

3/4 cam is from the days of isky & flat heads . I have an honest 3/4 isky cam . the next cam up is full race .............

    "Digs" = Drag strip.

  11. They actually predate that. Ed Winfield designed the 3/4 cam when he was hopping up Model Ts.

  12. I'll go with " Common Sense "

" Never see it in the lights" A phrase used when you were fabricating some thing on a drag car that you weren't quite happy with the results.

is powershift, granny shift, speed shift, double clutch still in use? when I'm tired I still grind gears at work when I drive the older trucks without the automatic transmission.

It's an Australian term. Has been used around here about a year by newbs, Aussies and morons. It makes me want to puke. I don't answer questions that use it.

    Called "Port-A-Walls" ...still available today.
Brother had them on his 56 Fairlane. Along with cruiser skirts (with red dice along the edges)
    3-bar flippers.

    Curb feelers, aka Cats Wiskers

    wasn't that foot feed?
Think it refers back to when cars/vehicles had a hand throttle and a foot throttle or "feed"

  22. Thank God... I thought I was the only one that ignored them. I also won't respond to posts with the word "carby" in them.

Tough to come up with any not already listed.

    Clean it out

    Rev kit

    Pop ups

    Hot wrench

    Red lined

    Stupidbaker (Studebaker)

Dropped the transmission (My Dad used this one. Meaning you blew up your transmission. Drop probably referred to an extreme event where a broken case actually "dropped" parts on the pavement)

Popped (I got red lighted and "popped" for speeding".)

Neutral slapper (revving an automatic car in Neutral to a few thou., then dropping it into gear-usually on Mom and Dads car)

    Put him on the trailer

Walked on ("I walked all over that Galaxie")

Maxxed out (At least from early 70's)

Claimer (my friend would always say "what a claimer" (or Pig) any time he beat someone in a street race).

Stand on it, punch it, pitch it sideways

    Lay a patch. Patch out

Sickle (for a hopped up motorcycle)
