Bobby, sorry I didn't stay on subject and posted the other pictures from Custom Auto. I really like the look of the Buddy Boren roadster. It has a deep channel job for a Dallas car. Just another '32 roadster to add to all the others from Dallas in the 50's.

Wouldn't it make a story to know the history of that '56. Nice chop. Let us know if you find out any more about it.

I just stumbled on to this article about Johnny Lovelean, Speed Shop owner from Caddo Mills who drove 1700 miles across country to seek revenge against a California car that beat him at the Oklahoma City Nationals. The car that beat him didn't show up. He tore down his engine once he got there, rebuilt it and ran 110 mph.

His photo is at the bottom of the post.

    Read his story...

I have a picture(misplaced now) of this car in real life in the pits at Caddo Mills with Bobby Wolcott (wbrw32) with wavy blond hair sitting on the front wheel. I didn't know Bobby at the time but met him later at Custom Automotive on Pearl St. buying my first set of 3-2 progressive linkage (1960?). Seems like it didn't have cycle front wheels then.

  11. My God,Mickey,if you do find that photo of me,PLEASE do not post it...Please purty please tear it up...

I have been their years ago. The landscape has completely changed there. Property there is now being sold by the square inch.

I may have just seen the only pics ever of my black '48 coupe in this video. I was putting a 324 Olds and hydro in it in Irving when I decided to sell it and build my '27 roadster. I asked about info on the Dallas thread and will ask if anyone knew anything about the SuperDeluxe coupe. Last I heard, Paul Willis had the roadster in Mesquite.
