Motion Pictures Hot Rod Herman...

  1. Yea, I'd say so. But the current Photoshop was definitely many a young boy's dream years before there was such a thing as Photoshop. ;)

I grew up in a restaurant as a kid and I remember fondly the time Fred Gwynn (Herman Munster) came in for dinner.

  3. NOTE: The dragster that beats Herman in the "Munster Koach" is Bill Martin's "400 Jr. (CT STROKERS)" B/FD ... a '64 Woody Gilmore dragster powered by a supercharged nitro-burning 327 Chevy ... most likely driven by Gary Cassidy or maybe Sam Davis (@carsick on the H.A.M.B.):

Here's a couple pics of the "400 Jr. (CT STROKERS)" dragster from Sam's "Dragster Days..." album:

the funniest part of the show was when Herman asked about what the other car was called. The guy said it is a rail. And Herman said one of my wives relatives was run out of town on one of those, but it wasn't that modern.....

Don't ruin it! A lot of 60's "sock babies" came from that pic.

Brett Barris brought that car to one of our club gatherings about ten years ago; he told me it was a running but well-used T-bucket for which he built a fairly simple sheet metal coffin body - just a fun toy. Nice guy too.

On the Dragula, note they substituted chrome reverse wheels and cheater slicks when they made the movie - guess that was to make it handle somewhat better on the road course.

I remember building the model kit that had both cars and I currently have the 1/18th scale models of both cars. The show was one of my top favorite to watch, no matter how many times I'v seen a episode, and show itself only ran for 2 or 3 years.

  16. Totally diggin' the CT Strokers FED shutting Herman down. Smoker slicks!

    First Post.. Hi Guys.
A friend still fondly remembers visiting Grampas restaurant when visiting New York in the late 80`s. He was charming,in costume, playing the part and greeting diners personally.. How lucky were we to grow up with such iconic TV shows ?... Lily Munster my second crush, after Doris Day:)

  23. I love that Zombie video. Even though the Koach is in the Dragula video.

Guess it's because there's no room to slam witches in the back of the Dragula......
