  2. Candy apple red. If you are not going to paint it black with gold leaf you can't go wrong with candy apple red.

or the colors that you picked are just fine.

    Washington Blue ???

  4. Scott is wahsington Blue the name of that dark blue that was a stock ford color? Not to hijack it is a topic of discussion between me and a friend from the other day. I was thinking it waxd called olympic blue or washington blue but couldn't remember.

And to the OP if this is the color that I think it is that is a very good choice for your little shop truck.

Most speed shops didn't go wild with the paint on the parts hauler save for lettering wild paint was saved for the hot rods or race cars.

Just MHO, but that would be ticket bait in the 50s. A speed shop truck in that era would be a modern (1950s) truck with all correct lights, fenders etc.
They were battling the bad hoodlum name at that time and that would not send the right image for a business.
The early 50s would be organic colors, going to the pinks and aquas that were popular along with Googie in the late 50s (and overdone in the 80s).

Well, half of the above suggestions weren't available in the 50's if you want to have it authentic.
I'd suggest finding color charts for 49 through the early 50's and hunt though them.

Looking through an old Martin Senor paint book the color choices are pretty wide open . Lots of nice maroons and greens though.
