Great find. I love those old british racing green leather interiors. I hope he keeps opts to preserve rather than restore it for the time being.

Bloody things have gone mental in value in the last decade though. DB4's are my favourite Aston though.....lovely things.
Still waiting for more photos of the Jag though......especially to see how the lower half has survived....or not, as the case may be, as already mentioned by another poster.

Back in the early '70s, when I was a Jag fiend,
We made 6 sets of rocker boxes. We installed a set
in my '58 150 roadster. Nobody was making them then.
at least in the US.
Sold the other 5 sets in 2 months!
That car was another great deal. Got it for $800, made it run and
drive in '74, sold it in '84 untouched for $16,000!
Are we ever gonna see inside that baby?

I absolutely love those old jags!....incredible style and stance, and tons of potential. I have a 58' TR3 ...but I always coveted a jaguar from the 50's ....just don't find them that often in my humble price range....sure would love having one though!...truly, a nice find!
So drop a 265 sbc in that 58 TR3 and I do believe it would be just as much fun, but then It might not be HAMB friendly as the engine isn't a Corvette 265 or the TR3 isn't a Jag. I'm not sure how the ruling would be there. Just thinking out loud.
haha....a 265 sbc in a TR3 would cause trouble for me,,,,not HAMB material I think....but sure love them old jags!
I remember reading an article on that - I think it was in a Peterson Engine Swap Annual but it looks like it was originally published in Rod & Custom in December 1968. The owner was Barry McGuire, who was a singer.
This web site says this is apparently the same car, now restored but it doesn't look like the same one that Tony posted above ...
I think you are right it is not the same identical car but it is the same body style
and probably also a '53. The picture I showed was Barret Jackson 2004.
The picture in your article is dated 2004 also and not the same car.
Note also, in my pic, the wheels and tires are ssoo wrong for the car.
And the side pipes look like a crappy add on that doesn't suit at all.
These cars were very light, compact and nimble as originals.
But note they mentioned it having a Buick engine! Many of these cars
were re-powered with cheap, big hp American engines.
In some ways they are an off-shoot of American Hot Rodding.
And I'm sure many of the guys that shoe-horned these big V8s in these
little cars had hot rod blood!
I was able to find the box with the Petersen Engine Swap article about the Siata/Chevy V8.

Trying to squeeze a sbc into a TR3 would be an interesting technical exercise indeed.....
Many years ago, I've seen a ally Rover V8 (Buick) fitted into a TR6 over here in the UK in place of the heavy old straight six

Just to inform some of you who had the car labeled wrong....it is a ROADSTER. A DROPHEAD looks like this with a windshield frame as part of the body. I know....I am being picky.
This is my cousin's drophead coupe....with roll up windows.
No disrespect but the OP car is a drophead. 150
Roadsters have snap on tops and no vent windows.

Check these pictures.
First picture green car is a roadster (hide-away snap on top, no vent windows)
Second picture black car is a drophead (top sits on the top of the body,
it's more substantial, padded and framed, and there are vent windows.
I lived these cars for years!
The '50-'57 roadsters had stand alone windshields and no windows in the doors.
The dropheads like the picture you showed had body framed windshields.
O'KAY - - I finally got out to the Jag and got the "BONNET" opened up - sure enough there is a Chev (Corvette) engine in there - the pics are taken "AS FOUND" with the dust, dirt, etc. Finally met with the owner yesterday and got lots of boxes of misc parts - New interior package - door panels - top - etc. - Very cool - - - - - - NOW - - - - what am I going to do with all this stuff - - - HUMMMMM - - - haven't decided yet but I'll bet my son Nick has some ideas - - - the rest of the story is yet to come - - - - - Stnick
All I can say is, WOW! Great to see the pictures, you definitely scored bigtime with this one! Keep us posted on the progress.

It wants to be what it is, not some perfect original trailer queen.
Resist the stocker guys. It already looks awesome.
Get it to run, drive and stop and then go carve the canyons like I said before!
NO-BODY Has the balls to build one like that today!!!!

Holy smokes that is cool! What trans is in it?
Does it have any numbers stamped on the engine pad? It would be interesting to see.
Make it safe and dependable maybe a 327 300 hp if that engine is shot, and drive drive drive.
