If anyone is interested, some of us will be meeting in the infield in turn 3 this friday night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the Hoosier Hundred Champ Car race. Will be some former drivers hanging out with us, Roger McCluskey Jr. is bringing a grill so if ya wanna throw some food on it bring it. I think Josh and his bunch are coming up from Cincy, If 29Sedanman doesn't die from the swine flu he will be there, would be nice to get a bunch of Hot Rods there.
Megan and I will be in town for the Indy 500 and will try to stop by late on Friday night. About how late will you guys be hanging out there? I'll be driving Big Olds.
How fast are these things on a mile track? Most tracks down here are only 1/4 mile or slightly longer or shorter and we only have sprinters. What sort of comparisons can you make? Pete
Depends onhow late the race goes, pm me if ya want my cell # or you probably have Josh's you can call and we will tell ya if were still there!! (if your bringing chocolate chip cookies we will wait even if the races are over!)

Buildy, I plan to take my digital camera so I should be able to get some pix up sometime early Saturday depending on how much fun we have Friday night. Striper, you have not lived until you have stood inside turn 1 at the Indy Fairgrounds when the big cars run. I had a photo pass a few years back and was able to lean up against the inside of the guard rail to shoot. Some of the cars were close enough that I could have leaned over the rail and touched them (apart from the fact that they were going waaay fast). Roo

I will most likely not be able to make it this year. I just found out that my daughter Blaney has won an art award, and I want to be there to see her get it. They are giving the awards on Friday evening. By the time this ends I doubt I mess with trying to make it out there. I will probably wait and take the girls to Kokomo Sunday night for the sprint races. You guys have fun.

Ah..a real race, with true race cars on Memorial Day weekend! What a concept! Plus, you guys also have the Little 500, wish I was there.
we are going to try to get parked in the first turn, (closer to the pits) If not then we will go to the third turn got the coller packed and the grill loaded see you all there!!!
Roy, I wish I could make it, but a trip from SoFL isn't in the plans. I hope someone posts some pics so I can see what I missed. PK
