Went to the Hoodlums in the holler car show today, took my 57 wagon, had a blast. Last i heard there was 165 cars. Felt normal for a change! Me and momma hung out with good friends, enjoyed the live band, which was amazing by the way, and seen a bunch of nice cars. Hell we even got a trophy for best under construction! Here's some of the HAMB friendly cars that was there
@Lloyd's paint & glass, Thanks for bringing the Show to my very very social distanced desktop...yeah the 57 Buick Grille...very popular on these 57 Bowties and for good reason... No Shows for me But I did get out for a Putt today...felt good...
It's laying out there in front of the shop, looked at the one at the show today to see how they did it. It was a clean job. With 10 cars here in the shop, and i picked up another complete job today, not much time for my own car feast or famine. Rather be feasting myself
Sometimes self employment sucks. When you have time, you have no money, but when you have money, you have no time. I used to buy stuff when I had money, and install that stuff when I had time. It can take a long time to get stuff done at that rate. I guess given the choices, its probably better to have food on the table and a roof over head then the alternative. Gene
Have fun with it...it's plated now so get some quality time in when you have a break from being busy, the fact we can even get a bit of normalcy right now even despite still being very dangerous out there with this invisible beast is refreshing...
Thanks for those great pictures. It's good to see that there is still some kind of normal going on in this world. It sometimes feels like that I haven't been to a car show event in years instead of it just being the last six months.
Chief decided it was ok to let us have mustaches again i reckon lol. Had something to do with the covid crap need all the facial hair i can get to cover this sexiness up!
I'm thinking with the 4:10 gear it would probably have cost that much to drive to Louisville! Lol... but it's a lot of fun
4.10 gears? My 56 Sedan Delivery runs 4.88's! The backup third member is a 5.13!!! Once a drag racer, always a drag racer. The Tri-Fives, that had a 3-speed with overdrive manual transmission, came with 4.11's. The ring gear on those are fairly narrow, and therefor a little weak due to "deflection" of the ring gear. Does your wagon have the stock rear end? Positraction, and traction bars, help a great deal to make them "live". I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Lol yeah mine is the stock rear. I've owned multiple cars with a 3:73 and this thing is way steeper than that. Jed told me it's more than likely the 4:11. It's an open differential. I've not had it on the interstate. It's cranking hard at 55 on the GPS speedo. I can't imagine heading across the state with this gear in it but we'll see. I'm still in the shakedown process. Haven't broke it yet....
