So I've been thinking on this for awhile I'd like to see some pictures of parts you've made for you car(s), stuff you have no recipt for because it came from you heart mind and hands. Or something you've made for your car that you're really proud of. I'll start it off with some of the parts I made for my modified Gas Cap, Firewall gauge panel, Dash panel. Gas pedal, and brake or clutch padal, can't remember which pic I put up. Now show off you're proud of.

Very nice pieces you've made, Most of my hardware ,brackets, shifter, and handles are handmade ,I really like my steering wheel , most all I've done with grinders and files, Plus lots of elbow grease:D Tim Jones

Thanks Matt, I got a Harbor Fright Scaler and beat the points up on some steel to soften the points and just go to town. If you stay off the part just a touch the pattern is real soft, then just hand buff with some polish or wax if you could see it up close it's hard to tell it's not cast. I tried to mill a small draft into the part, like a casting would have and picture what would be left as cast and what would be polished. Looks fairly authentic. I handed the dash panel to a friend and he asked who cast it, That was good enough for me.

That stuff is great! I love getting to use stuff I've built, You get to use yours at a high rate of speed(even better). Most of the stuff I built for the car has been in the house for a time, and my wife laughs at me because most of them have slept near my side of the bed. You don't build parts you develop them, along with a relationship.

I call it my catalog car.

every part is ordered out of some catalog

just like any other part it needs a little work to fit right.

Made the front bumper guards and matching year nurfs from old bent wrenches that were given to me in a showbox full of crusty old tools...

  24. finally got round to adding to the thread. These are some of the castings (in ali) I've done for my modified build. First is a copy of a motormeter, 2nd is firewall wiring junction box. Third is dash panel, forth is pedals and quick change cover, lastly gear knob.

Bought a couple sheets of steel, some 1" and 2" square and built the bed and tailgate for my F100. Lots cheaper than buying new and I was going to modify it anyway.

Mine aren't near as fancy as some, but I'm damned proud of them regardless. My custom Hudson valve covers are my favorite, even if nobody else can see them :) . I've also customized a Mopar gear starter to turn over the Big Six after continually breaking the original 6V starters smacking them with 12V. Various brackets and mounts have been made for my radiator, oil filter and coolant overflow. Working on some custom accelerator pumps for my Carter WA-1's and have some oil pump mods in the works.
