Your car is awesome, I like the idea of a rack out back, and think the rear fenders are cool. Glen

I cleaned up the cut line at the roof line, along with changing some switches for the air suspension.
Almost ready to fire it up.

Like the rack, is it fixed, or does it fold up against the body when not in use?? like the original 30s cars.. [IMG]

Absolutely amazing. That's a work of art right there.

I'd throw a steamer trunk on the back and call it a day. [IMG]

I'd be lucky if I could strap a case of beer on the back..... it's pretty narrow.
come to think... Why didn't I make it so I could fit a case or two on the back?
I'm gonna have to re design that.
It doesn't fold either. but It's being used all the time..... It fills the hole that was there before!
about the trunk... I have small 7 up cooler that I may strap to the back for junk in the trunk. Or I can put the spare on the back if I head out of town.

I just realized that I parked out beside the Bank.... With my Bank robber car. I'm gonna have to come back without the float and get some better pictures..... maybe a few bags of money too.

I haven't been on this site for a while... some pictures of the car this summer before the drive shaft let go and came through the floor.

Now that I've built it..... I'm thinking that I want to build something else.
I'm thinking of a chopped '53 two door belair ratty looking sled, but on air and an LS motor.

I guess nothing I own is considered a Rat.
I'd rather have them a little shabby, but I still like them clean and well built.... something I'm proud to show my workmanship and attention to detail.
Now with that out of the way....
I got the new driveshaft cut, welded and installed. then noticed the trans pan was leaking so replaced that... oil pan was leaking too so I pulled it off and figured I'd change the oil pump, which led to pulling one of the bearing caps....
so now the bottom end has new bearings, new pump and back together... again
Now I only have to wait for the snow to melt..... 5 months to go.

It seems like I'm getting an air breather collection and a steering wheel collection too.... I just can't decide which one..... so I change them up all the time just so the guys at the local meet have something to see and comment about.
I get a kick out of the old farts...

It's been a few years since I've been on here..... I ended up selling the Essex and took some of the money and bought another project... I thought I would have drove the car more than I did.... I guess with the air ride along with the open roof. It just was cool but I realized that a truck is more my style.
    Well it will be..... 20200731_174423.jpg
