Projects Holy crap what have i gotten myself into?? Bowling green bound.

Well got the brakes done yesterday Put the new sending unit in the tank and got it ready to go back in. Right before I left I opened the drainplug and left the rearend dope draining. I hope today is the magical day and I get it off of the jackstands.

After I posted the pic above I noted the colors , the rich but soft blue greens are very nice ,and the blue-green toned long roof is more plush than Artic White. I like ..

 

Well I had a bad day yesterday. To quote my father I was a magician, everything I touched I turned to crap. The trans had to come back out of the car. We were going to pull the tailshaft off of the trans and get the speedo gear out of it. Well the whole shaft pulled out. I did not know that would happen.

The needle bearings fell down in it. I took it to another friend of mine and he is going to take it apart today and fix it. When he is done it will be in good shape.

The brakes are bled the tank and sending unit are in all thats left is the trans and the water pump.

I took today off and I am on my way to work on the wagon. The trans is done. The man who rebuilt it said everything on the inside was in great shape. Today is the day I hope to be driving this afternoon

Well I drove it today. it needs a tune up and the carb rebuilt amd shocks and 2 new front tires. I had a blowout on the way home and had to be brought home on a rollback.

Two steps forward, one backward, eh...??? Sometimes that's how it goes when you build...stay with it, you'll eventually get on top of it...

"It's the journey, not the destination"...in other words: "Getting there is half the fun." Most times, for me anyway, "getting there" is 3/4's of the fun...!!!

thanks we are still planning on taking it even if we have to trailer it there this time. i have taken the family on vacation and will hit it hard as soon as i get back sat.

 

Well we got it tuned and it is running good. i pick up my Ansen Top Eliminators tomorrow. next get 2 tires for the front.

 

Picked up the ansens yesterday get tires mounted today and put on the car tonight hopefully driving tomorrow.
