So I was looking through my dvd's and saw my copy of hollywood knights.Nobody ever mentions it so i decided to bring it up. people usually talk about 2 lane blacktop & American Graffiti. I think those are pretty damn good iconic movies, But what do yo uguys think of Hollywood Knights? The hot rod scene in the 60's. Or in fact is there any other car/hot-rod movies you guys like?

if I wrote that movie I'd have put in a makeout scene with Fran Drescher and Michelle Pfifer

The best part of that movie is just witnessing that 57 before they Project-Xed the shit out of it. Oh yeah, and Tony Danza can't drive a stick!

rumor is that sectioned yellow 40 ford with the 8 track was built around this area... Merced County. Its also home to Ruth Industries who built the 55 in 2 Lane.

(on the 40 Ford, its Tom Hiser from Merced....I knew it was close by.)

We were just talkin about the El Camino in the opening scenes the other day trying to decide if it was "traditional enough." If I remember it was a 64 with Cragars on the front....was it straight axled or was it just sittin a little high?

And 49RF....i dunno about a make out scene but Michelle woulda definately been the one racing that 57. Her blond hair blowin as she powershifted past the almond eye guys.

My biggest gripe was the electric fan on Project X that stuck out like a sore thumb.

P.S. If PHR ever decides to do another version of the car, I vote Kiwi Kev for the job.

It had a lot of automotive press in HR, R&C etc. when it was being produced. Was in and out of the theatres before I even knew it was in town. Bought the tape years later, knew then why it was in and out of the theatres back when. Glad I got it at the Dollar Store.

Too bad nobody has found a way to take a story like "Street Rod" by H.G. Felsen, crank out a screenplay true to the simple morality play it is and release it independently. Sometimes a cult thing happens...

The Pie Wagon still looks like it did in the movie. The current owner is a very good care taker. Very cool car, no Fran in the back though.

That is a great movie, although my personal favorite is the Original "Gone In Sixty Seconds" and the Original "Vanishing Point"

The pie wagon was just at Lead East.

  25. Great movie although now I just fast foward through it to get to the cool car scenes. That's gotta be my second favorite 57 (after Dan Glovers gold 210) but now it's ruined. GM rebuilt it and while the build quality is top notch, the spirit of the original ride has been completely destroyed forever.
