History Hollywood in the '50s a quick vid

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by porknbeaner, Nov 20, 2012.

  1. Hey fellas everyone but me has no doubt seen this vid, but I just got the link from a friend. Didn't see too many hot rods or customs but it is SoCal in the '50s probably not much hot rodding going on down there back then. ;)

Anyway it is a cruise through Holley Wood in the '50s. Thought some of you would enjoy the ride.

the video maker was a bit confused. It started by say 1953 but it looked like 57 to me and the music was too old..... Cool cars though thanks

Gonna need to see it a few more times to really check out all the cars, but yeah the convertible shoebox with skirts and the perfect stance seems to be the best.

Was that a pink Lincoln Premier?
Don't you wish you could bring back a few of those pristine bodies?

  16. There were a couple of times that the ride was just a little edgy. Almost hitting the T bird was the worse. I can just imagine the driver tooling along with a super 8 propped/held up to his eye. ;)

Very cool...Everything was simpler, and the cars....works of art.
Admiral theater- John Wayne (The Searchers). Shows it was released in 56. I guess that goes along with the newest cars spotted (57 chev)

At the 22 second mark a 56 Chevy wagon comes into view. Is that one of those rare Forestry Dept. type cars that has been talked about on this site ?? Or is it just a 2dr wagon. Looks the part for the Forestry car with the Olive Green color...hhmmm
