Hey, I have quite a few Holley 1904 Holley glass bowl varbs also know as Visi Flo. Before doing the e-bay thing, I'd like to try and trade some for a large letter glass bowl. I have 2 large letter bowl carbs and 5 small letter ones. Also have 7 metal bowl Holley single barel carbs too. I'd like to trade something for a large letter bowl. I am using these carbs on a 32 rat pickup build I'm doing. Thanks, and glad to be here.

I hate you, Johhny!;) I have a half dozen glass bowls, and every one of them are small letter. I wouldn't mind finding just two of the large letter bowls for my "T" build.

    BTW...welcome to the 'board.

first, the bowl is probably warped at the screw hole bosses from over tightening. second, themodern gaskets are usually pretty hard. you want a soft cork gasket.

Looks like you hit a small goldmine. Nice collection. Just make sure that the three carbs that you plan on using are in fact 1904s. There were a few different models in the Holley 1900 series. Check out this website for more info, including the service manuals: http://www.carbkitsource.com/carbs/tech/Holley/1900-index.html. Also, make sure the venturies are the same size.

I have a pair of 1904s with the large lettered bowls waiting for a rebuild and to be put onto the engine in my truck. Currently, I have two 1904s with small Holley letters on the engine. Both were rebuilt. I gave about 9 Holleys to the rebuilder and told him to select the two best. He still had to straighten the bowl rim for the glass. He also had to hand-make the bowl gaskets because the kit supplied gasket leaked. If the bowl rim is too warped, the carb is pretty much junk, because it's too hard to straighten the bowl rim and tighten the glass bowl to prevent leaks.

Those large-letter Holley glass bowls are neat. I've never seen them before.

I have a collection of small-letter ones. I got most of mine when no one wanted them. Now the prices have gotten too high for me.

Well here I am, build is going slow, job injury, but getting better, had some funky adapters, so a friend made me 3 new ones, now to fab the linkage. Still have some carbs left too. 32 & carbs 001.JPG 32 & carbs 002.JPG

Johnny; I see you're using spark valve carbs in all three positions. I can't say I'm a carb expert, but would you really need that?

BTW; You plan on running progressive linkage?

    and I'm jealous as hell......

I'm going to check with my carb guy, I also think progressive is the way to go, I am putting these on a 250 6 cylinder that has had "some work" done on it. I do have other carbs without the spark valves. plus I have 3 new valves and a dozen or more carbs, some glass bowl and some metal. I mounted these to take a picture and get some thoughts. Thanks, John
