Holy crap, you're right! Can you mods see the user's activity? In other words SEE if a user is going through other user's profiles to capture email addresses? Technically, I suspect they're doing exactly what we're allowing them to so they're not breaking any rules, right? Questionable business practices, sure, but bot breaking rules.

Ha ha ha... I'll drop a message today!

BTW, the "unsubscribe" button in their emails does not work, although required by law. You have to endure months of spam, weeding out their garbage one by one.

  2. Anyone can view what you are looking at in your profile for one.

You are in the search at the moment.

The unsubscribe button worked for me, mark as spam and forget about it.

His last activity was over 2 years ago, so I doubt he's getting the info from here. I also doubt it will do any good to drop him a line since he doesn't log in here ever. Not surprised, but it also says that he hasn't made any friends yet. :D

I'm wondering if this email and website thing is actually Hoffman, or a scammer that has replicated the hoffman site to capture credit card info. Happens all the time.....

  5. Each of you guys that get this scam credit email should forward a complaint to the Oregon Attorney General. If they get a pile of these type complaints they'll open an investigation that might lead somewhere. It's nice to complain to relieve tension, and somewhat helpful to post up warnings on a big site like this, but none of that hits this company where it might hurt except for MAYBE a few people not risking a buy. Getting the AG on their butt potentially threatens their business license and pocketbook............just sayin'.

I got one too but figure it came because I spent some money with Welder Joe on Ebay which is a back door outlet for Hoffman Group.

I didn't use the "credit" they sent me last year and won't use the one that they sent this year but I 'm pretty sure that is where it came from.

I got the same email and have no idea how they got the email address it was sent to as I never gave it to them but some how they got it. It is an advertising gimmick and a way to trick you into makeing you purchase from them. Be aware the freight is the catch as they will still ask for a credit card to bill you for freight.

Edited Note: The way the email is worded I took it as a credit and simply asked for a refund as I know I could not purchase anything for that amount. Will see what happens and I expect nothing will.

In time you may come to regret this.

  9. I got the same offer and know exactly how they got my address. I wanted to download an Autoloc catalog and, to do so, they require an email address that they then use to send a link. Pretty smart of them - you can't use a bogus addy.

I wasn't expecting all the spam, but it's just one more annoyance. Tells me something important I wouldn't have otherwise known about the company, so they won't be getting any of my money. They did me a favor in a way, and most any email client these days has tools to block it as junk.

That's too bad man. The owner Lenny is a great and honest guy. If it wasn't too long ago I'm suspect he'd make it right for you.

  12. I have used the Email a member on here and when I do it doesn't give me the email address - it just sends the email though the message board. If the person doesn't reply to that email then I don't have visibility of that email. Unless I am missing something ?????

Add Helix suspension to their list of companies. I bought some of their tubular A arms and they were crap. Search for my post on them.

Request a refund as that appears to put them into confusion. If you have a credit then you are entitled to have the amount refunded to you.

I got it too. One of their company listings was Vintage Parts and I have ordered from them before. Clicking on the link goes directly to their web page. I needed an item they supplied and ordered it with their shipping quote. All seemed good. Even if I don't get the credit I'm fine with the price.

We have not, nor will we ever, give out our members email addresses for the purposes of horse shit marketing like that. You can put me on the record. NEVER.

Those people have nothing to do with us and they DID NOT get your email address from us.
