Except for the suicide doors and gross frontend I dig! I dont mind the front so much just those dopey low slung wheelwells. Who wants to make a Merc look like a Nash? Never got those...

Whooowa! Get it before those welds on the tubes are to far gone. Gusset the hell out of it and get racing. Are those suicide doors? I'm thinking gasser like this.

I say buy it, and scrap that tube frame, mount this on a separate real car frame and have a totally new Kustom

I was told the body was fiberglass too.

There was an old post once about old dragster frames. Something about being careful they were not rusted inside so the wall thickness became paper thin. You couldn't see it from the outside.

That looks like a Winfield front end that was pretty popular a while back.

make it mimic your street cruiser... but with a turbo'd LS1 motor...

Go out in the cruiser and set up the race... switch to the race car and win money. :)

Acid dip the chassis? That's the only way I can think of to check all welds and be sure that you're sitting in a safe cage. Lots of potential there for sure!

wow, john, another? i think you need to change you name for prostreet to merc-a-manyjohn. looks like you need bumpers for it, i know someone who has a set but it will cost ya:D. just kidding, hope it works out for you though.

  16. I might be swapping out the turbo setup on my '98 Formula to a different setup, if so, that rig could go in there. I went [email protected] on 1 1.51 on 16 psi pump 93 this past weekend at 3400 raceweight... Hmmmm.

more importantly, i wonder if the chassis will certify?

  18. Dunno, though my buddy added to my cage in my OT Formula and it's certed to 8.50 and slower right now.

  19. It's cheap so I'm kinda thinking I will get it and then see how it goes, I need to call my flatbed buddy and go from there.

  20. Hey Gypsy!!! This Is Norb. I'm looking for an Olds drivline for the 33. Anything around? Why are you on the "puter" and not in the garage??????

I would imagine with all the rule changes to all classes for certification over the last 3-4 years that it won't certify. That looks like a little more than 4 years worth of rust!

  23. True but it looks like it has a lot of the relevant bars for an 8.50 cert.

I think it's a one piece front end.
