So awesome! When it came up for sale recently I secretly tried to think it through in my mind on how it could end up in my garage. I'm glad it's in yours and look forward to seeing it in person in Indy.
After so many years gone, GONE.........alive again to enjoy the history. A true work of art from over 50 years ago. Thank you Curt.
No...... The 348 with 6 carbs is long gone. But, that is my plan to find and put back as it was in 1962.
The pictures in my first post are the car at the Grand National Roadster Show this year. Runs, drives and some updated body TLC it's as it is in the pictures. The interior is original from 62 A Kustom Survivor
Glad to see another custom from that era saved and shared. Seems like so many disappeared forever. It was these cars I stared at for hours in my old car magazines I would buy as a kid. I didn't have the pleasure to grow up in that time but imagined it in my mind many times. Take good care of it. Sounds like it deserves a pampered life!
Curt R...sitting out in my garage, at my workbench in the dim light. your story brought chills down my spine. Eerie Scenes from the movie "Christine" were flashing through my brain. So glad it has been resurrected. The "Candy Stripe" interior is just too much for me to handle! In a good way. JT
Great time/people and great cars at the CCR in Indy - For custom car guys - a must show ! Went to Goodguy's - Des Moines 4th of July weekend. Enjoyed Friday the first day........ perfect weather.......but a bummer not able to drive it Saturday or Sunday. Upon leaving the entrance /exit gate Friday night going 10 MPH the pinion gear broke and seized the rear end. Going 10 MPH !!!!!!!!! Thankfully NOT at 60 MPH on the highway !
What a great car I too have a survivor built in 62 with roll pans. 57 Ford SEABURST Blue so I guess you can say I got your competition hehe........ Sent from Austinrod
Cool Story. My little brother just told me this week how much he enjoyed going with his 2 older brothers to the same car shows you describe. he was 5 or 6 at the time and we were late teens. Loved the story
