Here is K9 Racer winning on opening day at Huntsville this year . I do believe it's the start of his sixth decade of racing.

Middle photo, Junior on the gas can ... got to love the boys from Wilkesboro wearing the overalls . . . cooler than the other side of the pillow.

Ms Eva was (and although I haven't seen her in years probably still is) a class act.

Here's another "Who is it" request. This is a Glen Wood Mercury out of Danville, VA. Photo was taked at Kil-Kare in Xenia Ohio 1n 1970 or 1971. This wasn't just a weekly show, must have been a special event - folks like Bob Senneker were there that day.

Can anyone ID the driver / team ?

Enjoy the Pic of the day...

Thanks very much. I'm just an FNG 45-year-old kid who grew up going to Heidelberg, also a few visits to Ohio and WVA paved tracks with dad just to watch. I love this thread, you, Big John and Allstar Racing deserve much credit and respect for keeping this information "alive" in the web!

A "historic tribute" I found these pics on the web, hope everbuddy enjoys this. If my memory serves it was for sale up in Georgia in '08 or '09.

One more for today, this car should still be at the Darlington Museum, unless it was moved to the new HOF in Charlotte. If this isn't a 1949 Olds, I'll be embarrassed ... Steelking22:cool:

Lee Petty at Corbin Speedway - August 29, 1954. First and only (so far) NASCAR premier series race in Kentucky. It was a half-mile dirt then. Petty won the 200-lapper and made $1,000. It was the race before Darlington. Petty went on to win his first NASCAR championship. This photo and others from that race provided by Mike Hartford, a long time Corbin fan, in response to my appeal on Facebook for pictures from the track's history.

Looks like a Ford Torino or Fairlane to me in spite of the "Cyclone" painted on the roof panel.
