If you get it running soon, you ought to come over to our car show.....Sept. 18 & 19.......I should have my truck driveable by then....I hope....Brakes are done....now on to wiring which shouldn't be too bad.....none the less, can't wait to see what your car can do.

Don't think strapless cocktail dresses will help with heat from the turbo.

    Reported.

EDIT: Was reporting a spam post that has since been deleted.

I think this build is awesome and can't wait to see how it finishes up.

    It's all OK guys..

Is it the lack of tattoos, or the general tasteful approach to the pictures that you have a problem with?

    whew I feel better. :)

I'd hate to think anyone on this board would have a problem with a strapless cocktail dress...

I mean unless he was wearing one and it kept blowing up and showing off his naughty bits.

I see one major problem and that is a issue with the turbo, how are you going to keep the back tires from smoking right off the car??????? This is great, I am sure the cooling of the turbo area will work out for you but this thing is going to be just darn fast. Very neat and some great craftmanship you have going.

The car will have different wheels and tires for racing. Nothing too wide just something that looks the part and works.

Ok ok. Turbo's need heat. Contrary to popular belief it is not the velocity of the exhaust entering the turbine that causes the spooling speed. Add to that the miss belief that higher rpms causing said higher velocity is what is the acting force against the turbine effectively making it spin faster.

High pressure by the laws of physics/motion has to go to low pressure. By restricting the exhaust flow as it enters the turbo it creates higher pressure. This pressurized exhaust has been crammed into a tiny space(compression). Looking for a way out, finding it and expands at a rapid rate. This expansion rate of force when applied to the turbines fins causes it to rotate, ie spin. The higher the expansion rate the faster it spins. Add heat and the crammed exhaust molecules want to expand that much faster. Keeping heat in the turbo is what you want/need!

Cooling the passenger compartment is as you know what your biggest obstacle is going to be.

I would suggest completely boxing in the turbo and piping along with the second firewall that you have made. To keep the heat around the turbo and piping to it. More wrapping of the down pipe and feed piping. The only downfall is you are going to preheat the air charge into the carb, hence the need for a inter cooler.

I don't know how you are gonna do it. I don't know what insulation you will have to use to keep the heat in and out.....but I know this, you will figure it out....

Look at the masterpiece you have built so far...

    Bitchin!
