I've been lurking on this group too long and figured i better register while i was still alive. My name is Bob Hills, I'm 63, live in Manchester, Ct. and i'm a retired firefighter. I've always liked fast cars, fun cars, and almost anything unique. I hope you guys and gals will accept me into your group. I still have a lot to learn and i have to warn you that i know enough to be dangerous. I hope i can contribute but take everything i say with a grain of salt. Last car i fooled with is a 79 Impala with a blown SBC. The new project is a 40 Ford standard business coupe.

Thanks Kentucky. It's always nice to meet a brother. That avatar you have is just like the siren on a 59 American LaFrance that i used to drive, 6 cyl. Continental. He's a pic of my 40 the day i picked it up, it's under construction.

Gotta love a Q siren. It's music to my ears, right up there with an uncorked flathead:D

What are the plans for the '40? Looks like a good project.

It's been a long time since i heard the sound of that siren, or a uncorked flathead, both get the heart pumping.

The Ford will get discs front and back, sway bars, an old Hemi, 5 speed Tremec and a Dana 60. I talked to a guy from NH that has a set of Ardun heads, if i can score those it'll go the flathead route all the way. Do you have a pic of your 46?

Thanks again for all the new welcomes!
I've been told many times that i'm running a quart or 2 low, lol
I'll be posting pics as i build it, the paint is off the car and the body will be next.
Yes, it's a blow through, 650 Demon with mechanical secondaries. I never had it on a dyno but i figure at 7 or 8 pounds of boost it's about 550hp. I'm putting on an alcohol/water injection system on it now to try to get the detonation down.

Nice '40. I love them. Can't wait to see what you do to yours. Welcome to the board.

Here's one, loaded up in MN ready for the 900+ mile trip home.

I got a good flathead to put in it to get it going, it will probably end up with a 5.0/c4/8" rear combo though, and the flathead/3 speed/banjo might find its way into an A frame my parts guy has:D

    Thanks Gotgas,
You have sharp eyes. The little 305 that came from the Imp is sitting on my garage floor, 18,600 original miles. it might go in my 40, not sure yet. I'll be posting pics..

That's a long way to go for a car but the body looks good. Good luck with the project, post a few pics of what you're doing..

Nice 40 you've got, looks like a good solid one to start with. Welcome from a new guy in Illinois.
