Not new to forums just new to this one, it was the thread on "metal flake steering wheels" that persuaded me to join up, so it's done now and i'm glad to be here.
Hi! All the benefits of American Hot Rodding without going through customs, getting violated by the TSA, or having to drive on the right (directional) side of the road!
Thanks guys for the warm welcome. A little about me. My current piece of American hardware is a 1971 Chevy C10, I had it shipped over here nearly 4 yrs ago now, before that the most glamorous piece of automotive history I have had the pleasure of owning was a 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport, and last of all my very first yank tank was a sturdy 1979 Full Size Jeep Cherokee Chief. Now I realize that none these vehicles could be described as Hot, Rat or Rod, but my C10 has had a few things added by the PO.....a 454 crate with Holley performance carb, mild cam, Hooker Headers, TH400 with shift kit and 4.11 gears, so she is nice and mean sounding and plenty snappy off the line. I have been in love with American cars and Trucks since I was old enough to remember, growing up in the 1970's Britain watching TV shows like Streets Of Sanfrancisco, Kojack, Rockford Files etc, and all the great road movies like Vanishing Point & Gone in 60 Seconds were to sew the seeds of a passion that was never to leave me...television shaped me forever and gave me a love of all things Stars & Stripes. Sadly I know that the U.S of the 1970's is gone, but it will never be forgotten by me, and I will always love the U.S.A no matter what decade she is in.
Welcome from the great white north. I'm researching the '70's as well...I was there but can't remember them !!!
Wow lots of Brits & Scots on here, even some X Brits too.... Yes we got plenty of snow down here, we're snow fans so it's all good.
