If you rent the trailer from U-Haul, be sure to tell them your hauling a '94 Honda Accord.

And if the car doesn't run, you should also rent some kind of "come along" or chain hoist to help get it on the trailer.

My problem is that I have a Ford Ranger and the Lincoln is a good 4500lbs.

U-Haul will not rent the full size pickup for a one way. They will rent w/ 10ft moving truck and trailer but that's $700.00.

Oh I'm in So Cal and the car's in Sac town.

700 bux for a truck and trailer rental?

seems kinda high, specially when you take into account the "$29.95" per day stickers on the trucks... trailer is like $50 a day.

rent a full size van or truck from rent-a-wreck then head over to uhaul and get the trailer.

Fiddy, you're not figuring mileage. It's several hundred miles from Sac to Temecula. That'll run him.

I was assuming he would have a truck, or have a friend with a truck that could pull the car/trailer...

I'm finding quotes around $350.00 to $400.00 for car transport.

The one way thing is the problem. See what uhaul would charge ya for both ways from home. Ive rented trailers way cheaper towed up empty and returned in same store.

When you say tow packages I'm assuming you mean they don't have the tow ball set up. Can't you rent one at the same time you rent the trailer from u-haul and have them install it and then remove it when you return the trailer?

that is what I normally do when I need to rent a car trailer. About 80.00 or so a day around here.

Get a deal on renting the truck and trailer and returning them back to the place you picked them up at. And get unlimited .mileage on the truck rental.

Yahoo maps says that is 471 miles one way. That might make it a very long day or a two day trip

    Check UHaul, and Budget.

I've learned that I can have it towed for around $400.00.
