image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I got most the sheet metal parts tacked in and took it for a drive to check it out from some different angles. This has changed the car completely and I love it. I can't wait to weld it all up and get some black on it.

Thanks! Ya I'm really satisfied, I think it looks even better in real life as you walk around the car.

Thanks Mo! The gas door and fender bead are next on the list, should look nice and smooth after that.

Looking great Eric! do you find the light much brighter with the different lens? Compared to the old cat eye lens. It looks like it is in the pictures. Cant wait to see it all in black this car is going to look so different from when I first seen it a year ago.

Thanks Brent. yes I think the fresh NOS lenses are much sharper than the old 51 lenses.

Are they glass blue dots? Have you had the car out at night?
(I used to read about blue dots in the magazines when I was a kid, but I didn't "get it" until they started showing up in my neighborhood!)

Ya Mo, that are original old glowbrite lenses with glass blue dots. It hasn't been out in the dark yet. Can't wait though.

Rather than use that Merc grille surround, you might want to consider removing the two big bullets and make the grille bar one piece that goes all the way across. Just an idea.

Thanks, updates coming soon. Very inspired after having a good look at John St. Germain's shoebox this holiday weekend.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Still requires lots of sanding, but I like the shape.

It's looking good, Eric. It'll tell for sure when you have it one color and we can see it in context of the whole car whether you've got a grand slam or just a home run...but the potential is certainly there.

Is it in the plans to smooth off the panel line atop the quarters?

Hi, Eric. I'm sure you've seen Lee Pratt's '49 Ford, but here is another shot, for comparison.
    (Different lenses, of course.)
