Glad to see an update. This is a terrific project.
So not to be presumptuous, but what's after the top? I can't wait!
Lol, round the hood corners and gap it well. Then full body paint. There is also a long list of mechanical things I would like to change.
Good to see an update, its going to be a kustom with big K after you are done!
Glad to see a update.
I can't wait to see some paint.
Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is so sick. Keep up the good work mate!
The lift off top almost ready for paint prep.
You are the man.
Cool to see some updates, looks to be real cool! What color are you painting the top?
Thanks, it will be a light metalic green. That may not be permanent though.
Found a little area in the gutter that was soft so I fixed that. I have had a hard time finding anyone local to blast this thing properly. I mentioned it to my friend who owns a body shop and he was having the same problem. Two weeks later he bought the entire setup so it will be going there for prep, body and paint. BRENT was going to paint it but it is way too cold now.
Last pic before the top goes for body and paint.
I love your posts, Eric. That camera shot is art. Especially cool that the car was a soft top.
What else is on then slate, til the top comes back?
Are you happy with the dual carbs? Any more tweaks for the flathead?
I'm sure you've seen this, but twin straight pipes would turn a corner, for me!
I'm going to wrap up the rear bodywork and prepare the car for a fresh coat of the same black paint as before. It's not done but I want it to look good for a little while. Then I can put it all back together. It will be going back to the Detroit autorama in March so that's my deadline.
It runs pretty well, just a little rich at times. I have smaller power valves in but it's still a problem in cold weather.
Thanks for sharing, looks great !
It's been a treat watching the progress, and even more so meeting and getting to know you (a little). While recovering from hip replacement last week, it's fun seeing you make progress on your car, as I can't do anything on any of mine for awhile. Looking forward to seeing it in Detroit.
You too Brian. I'm waiting for my ride to the body shop with the roof as we speak. Are you bringing one of your cars to Detroit this year?
Off to the body shop.
Will the top be finished with a conventional headliner (bows)?
I'm still thinking about the best approach Mo.
How about...giraffe hide? (Remembering a Westergard custom with Zebra hide headliner.)
Lol, not really the look I'm going for.
Great work with the roof Eric! Hope the paint turns out great!
Blasted and treated with some Eastwood rust converter stuff.
Whew! At first when I looked at it I thought to myself that sure was some splotchy purple paint.
HAHA my first though was that doesn't look like green.
And a pretty crappy finish too. lol The finished product will be top notch..
Is it done yet?
