    3-4 will look great Eric.
To my eye 6" is too much. Looks squashed.

I agree Torchie. There's a fine line between classy and silly.

After staring at the car all weekend I have decided to work on the door fit/gaps and fender fit first. I think I will start on the weekend and will include rounded hood/cowl corners and moulded fenders. Time to up the quality a bit. Then it's time for the haircut and proper glass fitting.

  8. I managed to miss you in Detroit. Think I saw ya from a distance talking to a lot of people, wandered around more and when I got back to your end you'd disappeared...

Man, if you're worried about your fender gaps I'm screwed. I'm having a helluva time. I was hoping to talk to you about your hood hinges and have a look to see what I'm doing wrong.

If it's complete I have seen them go for $1200 on the low end to $$$$
That's just in my experience though.
Good luck on the gaps. I can't even tell you how much time I have spent on just the doors of my custom truck project and they are not done yet.
As one of my mentors told me back in the day. "Hell. They weren't that good from the factory" LOL

Gday Eric, lookin' good. I always er on the side of CAUTION. I say 3inch chop is perfect. Every quarter inch after that is dramatic. It's like a see saw. once it tips it only takes feather.
    Best customs are always subtle.

Well, with a little luck my top assembly will be sold and gone tomorrow. New 51 header and mail slot window on the way. It looks like it's almost cutting time. When I saw the pic of me driving out of Cobo I knew it had to be done. The car looks tall an stubby.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg The top is gone and I already have a new front 51 top header. It has some dents but is pretty solid. John St Germain has hooked me up with this new window as well. It's a start.

Planning to use these 51 Vic stainless hardtop frames in the padded top so that good seals can be held in place.
