    Hi,

Just to Confirm the W I am refering to is on the block just left of the core plug above the starter position.

If this is the case it all ties up with old mans story
    58 Saratoga
    4BBl on an unmodified manifold
SpitFire Stamped into the rusty valve covers.

Apparently the engine was still running 2 years ago - the car was a basket case so they removed the engine.

The Starter and dizzycap is stored in a box.

This could be fun in the 57 D100 I am working on

BTW the engine is in Cape Town - close to the ocean - and ANY thing rusts on the outside over there.

It was stored in a garage unit December when it was moved into the back of a truck.

Thanks for the info guys - that CastIron TorqueFlite have me wondering - because apparently it is a push button version. Get an adapter and replace it with a 727... or a518 46RH:D

    Regards
    Fanie Gerber

No Lakes - just a pile of rubbish in the back of a truck under a canopy - the Engine located close to Cape Town on our west coast - renowned for rust

  4. I had a good through reading of the Chrysler Poly Performance book over vacation.

On page 13, Chrysler Spitfire intake manifolds, the author states
"I don't think the chrysler 301-354 poly can use the 331-354 intake manifold."

Well friends, I'm happy to say that is false, and there are several posts on the hamb that are correct.

    Intake is cast 1555473-1, 331, 354 and 392 on my 55 poly

  5. A little more poly porn!
The 55 301 poly heads have large ports that match the hemi intake.
Last pic shows how small the 2 barrel intake ports are!
0.2 on the floor and 0.1" on the sides and roof
