I am hoping that some of you early Hemi experts may have some helpful information regarding an intake that I picked up a while ago along with a 53' 331 Chrysler, I am new to these engines. After some research I have found that the first year for the 4 barrel intake on the Chrysler Hemi was 1954, is this true? The intake that I have has a serial number that from what I understand would make it a 1953 piece, would this have been produced late in the year for a 54' car? I have not had much luck finding any information regarding this intake and was hoping that the wealth of knowledge here on the HAMB may be able to produce some answers. Thanks!!

Given the way the calendar works, that looks to be a December 1953 date, correct for a '54. It is an early "wet" manifold. Don't think '53's had 4 bbls.

That would be a 1954,331 intake.First year for the short bell but used the wet intake like the 51-53,no water at the ends like 55 up. It will work for the 51-53.
