Hot Rods Help with Traditional '30 Model A Coupe build

Looks good. You put that car together quick.

 

Really like those lines. They finish it off just right!

 

Drove it about 50 miles today, it did really good. Brought it back home and re-adjusted the brakes and went over all the suspension and made sure everything was tight. Got some better shots of the striping.

Haven't updated this thread in a while, I've been busy putting miles on the coupe.

I've had this old S'OK can on the shelf for 30 years and went to use it the other day and it had turned to gel so I found another use for it.





Got the rest of the windows in and made a snap-off top for it.

 

I picked up a set of L78-15 wide whites that are the same brand (Commander) as the 16X6s, I think the proportions are better with the "Big and Little" look.

 

That's a clean looking hot rod!!! Very cool!

Are you using the stock gas tank.

 

I really like the dash and interior. Very clean and very cool looking.

 

No, the battery and electrics are in there...the cowl top comes off like a hood. You can see it a couple pages back.

 

Beautiful car. All the little functional details set it apart and above many of the rest.

Great start... It's done as far as I'm concerned

 

I finally got a set of high quality wheel adapters so I could use my early Ford 16" wheels on the Buick hubs. The adapters are 15/15" thick so it got the wheel off the drum, the Olds wheels I had been using were right on the drum and had actually been touching in a place or two. This also allowed me to use my other two bullet centers.

 

Very nice build, one question with your steering box,since i'm thinking of using a 47 box on mine,was there any bumsteer as somebody already talked about?

 

Not at all, it has nothing to do with the type of box. As long as the tie rod and drag link are at the same level you shouldn't have any bump steer.

 

Looks great. You should send that 40 ford steering wheel down to another TN model a builder. I sure could use it on my coupe I'm putting together. I live in Murfreesboro.

 

That car looks great love the use of the original tank might have to copy that. Only thing I would do is paint the radiator black kind of sticks out to me but then again what do I know mines in 10 million peices... great work on the car.
