Some time ago I got a hold of these 16 inch wire wheels with adjustable spokes.
They are around 5.5 inches wide and have the same 5x5.5 bolt pattern as an early Ford, but they have a different hub than Ford wheels.
The hubcap hole is about 9/16 inches bigger than original Ford wheels.
They also require a spacer to be used with mechanical Ford brake drums.

Any idea what kind of car they were made for?

Did a Google search and by looking at the shape of the hub it looks like they are Chrysler, like 302GMC said.

The valve stem hole is located at the 8 o'clock position on these rims, thus it definitely is Chrysler. :D
