    Hi guys,
Helping my uncle and dad put together this little 31 Ford rod we picked up. So far we got it running and fabbed up some radiator supports, had to wire it up to run and other basics. So far as we can tell the frame has been “z”’d. Car didn’t come with doors. We were able to source a good cowl/firewall area. Back body has some pinholes but mostly good. We are stumped on the doors. Our door openings on the body are about 24.5-25 inches wide. Is that correct? We had a buddy bring some doors by and they are around 22 inches. Seems to me from pictures they look to be from a ‘28 Ford. Currently checking all around online and can’t seem to find any idea of what I should be looking for. Any suggestions or guidance? Thank you very much. Included are 2 pictures. IMG_0752.JPG IMG_0751.JPG

What you have there is basically the back half of a 28-29 Model A coupe/sport coupe and 28-29 gas tank/cowl top. You are missing the front and back pillars. Do a search for 29 coupe and you will see what you are missing. You need doors off a 28-29 coupe or sedan.

Thank you for the insight! Are these pillars able to be purchased online?

Not as repro. But check the HAMB classifieds.

It actually looks like you have homemade cowl sides. If you want to bolt together original Ford style parts it might be dest if you find a complete 28-29 cowl.

Fortunately I have what we believe is a 28- 29 cowl that we picked up.i don’t have a picture just yet of that one but I will get one uploaded so you can all take a look. It is the same style but is genuine ford. Do the 30-31 cowls have the same body line? The new cowl I have is very similar but you can tell it is a proper ford cowl. I will have to find the correct pillars someway.

Unless the cowl we got supplied is a 30-31 and the ass end is a 28-29. In which case it looks like some serious fabrication is in order. I will update with pictures for more information.

28-9 cowls are completely different than 30-1. The cowl from a 28-9 fordor looks similar to a 30-1, but they are different too. You need a regular 28-9 cowl from a coupe or tudor.

These are roadsters and closed car cowls are a little different but you can see the difference between the two. Red28-29

You only have the Gas Tank and the Lower Cowl Sections. You are missing both the A Pillars and B Pillars.

The Pillar that Corn Fed Posted a link to is a B Pillar.

Also, roadster doors measure a little over 22" wide as you stated. Coupe doors are just over 27" wide, and sedan/pick up doors are 29" wide. Hope this helps
