should be even/level with the front edge of the cowl, perhaps just a shade lower, NEVER higher. That appears to be #2 and #3 inversely to the previous comments
number 4, but like was said about that dang fence I am sure you will get it right, because the front and rear ride height is awesome on your car. Looks GREAT.
Photoshop a top half of hood onto the pic. The side bead's angle, if bent at the cowl, will tell you straightaway, Go 4!
Much better too low than level or too high. Look at the two most famous cars around. Gragowski's Kookie car and the American Graffiti yellow coupe. Both a little or a lot too low but both famous for their look. Sometimes you have to go a little radical in the right direction. Just my opinion but I don't mind voicing it. #1 No guts No glory!
I voted #4 don't like droopy fronts, it just looks wrong. If you want more forward rake, do it properly. Just my two cents.........
4 is the first one that is even heading in the right direction. I'd like to see 5 and 6 for comparison. Use a string line or masking tape from the cowl to the shell to create the line instead of a stick 2" above that line. It's still a bit like guessing at the moment. Pete
I agree with you on early T roadsters, later cars though? I always thought the AG coupe just looked weird.
Do what Stiper said. Get rid of the bar, and used three or five lines of masking tape right on the surfaces. Then walk across the street and look back from a distance.
IMHO the line from the cowl to the grill looks best in pic #2. With a hood on you'd see pic #4 would look a little pig nosed & pic #1 looks a little short, think american graffiti coupe. I always use blue painters tape frome the cowl to the grill (fake paper hood)to make sure I like the line. Good luck!
One thing throwing off the look is that you must have the unshortened grille shell out in front of the front crossmember? Once you shorten the shell and get it further back in line with the front wheel, the look will change again.
With a digital level mounted on the window opening I'd match that angle from the top of cowl to the grille shell. Especially if you plan to use a hood.
Thanks for the input all!, here is number 4 with a little tape, could not roll it outside today. I do not plan on running a hood.
