I need help researching a Kurtis Kraft 500 that I'm getting ready to restore.
It's car 64 driven by Leroy Warriner, Sponsor by Ansted rotary engineering.
    Any help would be helpful.
Please send info to [email protected]
    Many thanks...
    Paul.

I believe it became the Shannon Spl. in 56. Didn't change much of anything except the logo.

I looked for it on a youtube video of the '55 500, and couldn't spot it on that one, but someone will know.

The number 64 car, driven by Leroy Warriner, failed to qualify for the race, so it wasn't in the video. In 1956, the number 64 car, this time driven by Duke Dinsmore, started 33rd and finished 17th.

Look at the pitman arm / drag link on the Shannon photo. It looks like they slowed down the steering.

video of '56 Indy 500 I think shows the 64 car about 2 1/2 minutes in, looks to be metallic blue and white.

Don't know the veracity of any of this but FWIW it would seem the Anstead/Shannon car was originally the Wollcott car which is alive and well today.

I just found out that it's not the same car from my own research.
So the search to find out what car this is go's on.
    Thanks...
    Paul.

Why not post pics of what you have? I'm sure someone here can help ID it.

I vote for a Hilborn injected TRACO in it, with purple flake, and late '60's Indy rubber on it. Someone should save one of these as a ground pounding Super, JMO, of course.

So many people willing to help and the "owner" won't show photos? Get an advance before you start working on whatever it is. Bob

Seems your client is a fool, you should talk with him so he can actually research his car....
