I have my hands on the following parts.

    31 Frame
36 front suspension, 2 wheels to match
    36 top loader trans
    46 ford rear end
    49 8BA flathead & 3 speed
    T touring body
    46 frame
    36 pedals
    36 steering shaft and wheel
    57 ford 9 inch

I'm trying to figure out what to use.

I think I can get a 36 rearend easily enough too.

At this point I'm trying to figure out the frame, suspension, and drivetrain.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Sounds like you got a start on something. What's your goal? First step is finding the style of build and get started on the frame. Myself, I hope its not going to scrape the ground, lowering it is fine, but too low ....

My goal is to build it as traditional as possible. I have a couple of small chevys, ford 9 inch, th 350 etc but I want it to be as traditional as possible with what I have.

The touring body is rough and most all of the parts have been traded for or free.

My main concern is what rear to use. If I use the 46 the torque tube is huge and as I understand the 36 would work but neither the front or rear would have juice brakes. Can you use the 36 front and rear suspension and find newer or aftermarket backing plates and brake set ups?

Is the 36 an ok trans?

    Lot's of questions I guess.

  4. Use the 36 stuff with the brakes from the 46...The A frame is pretty weak, make sure in traditional you keep the tires skinny and the motor tame.

    Thanks Don,

Will the 46 backing plates etc. bolt right on to the 36 stuff? I don't plan on running this too hard. Just for fun running around. As I understand the 37 and up trans is preferrable but I have the 36.

    Vergil,

    Thanks,

It looks I'll be shopping for some 37-48 juice brake hardware.
