I am doing some work on a customers car and I'm having some trouble identifying these. The car if it helps is a T bucket originally built in the mid 70s. We are looking at swaping the front drums for discs and I need to do some work on the rearend. The bolt pattern is the same front and rear at 5 on 4.75" http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3538.jpg The bolt pattern on the spindles is 3.125"x3.875" http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3539.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3540.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3541.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3542.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3544.jpg http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee520/bryantcustomcycle/Fire Chief T/IMG_3543.jpg There is 10 studs on the rear differential. Let me know if you need anymore pictures or measurements.
GM brake drums. look like spindles are early Chevy and rear axle is tri 5 to me, but have to guess with pictures. Tom S. in Tn.
Thanks guys! I am always in awe of the wealth of knowledge on the HAMB. Is there a better way to identify the front spindles to really get it narrowed down before we start buying parts?
see if they look identical to this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/200711262481 The truck spindles from that era look similar, but different...I don't know what else it could be, really
You could buy custom tube axles made up using either early Ford or the 49-54 Chevy spindles back then. Pretty sure these are the 49-54 Chevy spindles.
