Hi folks, I’ve got a set of turn signals on top of some headlights attached to “big truck” 35 ford fenders. Has anyone seen these before? Would love to use them, but I need some lenses.

    Thanks!

cut some colored thin Plexiglas to fit. you'll have a difficult time finding replacement lenses.

That's where I figure I'm headed, so thanks! I'm hoping someone has seen them before mostly just to know what/who made them. 'Course, I suppose they could be tractor or something judging by where this thing spent most of its time...

Kinda unique, but seems like they put them on the wrong side.....shouldn't the lighted area be pointing in the direction of the turn ?

OR, maybe it stuck out too far, so they mounted them as shown.

I've seen a bunch of those around. There was a real ePay frenzy over them a while back and every "picker" in the nation was dumping them and asking hundreds of crazy monies for them regardless of condition. All of them appeared to have what looks to me like theater gels for lenses, if that helps.

  7. Looks like a tiny canned ham. :p

(at least thats what it might say, if you read the lettering stamped on them)

One of the less popular types. The hooded round type were the most used. Dietz, Grote, & K-D were the best quality …
Some states had or passed laws requiring a certain minimum area of lens, making the "arrow" type signals obsolete or illegal. Many of the survivors have the metal cut out of the center for more visibility.

Although it's more likely to be a Premier.

Jim, if you can read anything on that your eyes are way better than mine! It does look like that Premier though...

That's the right fender, Gatz, so it's pointing the right way. Blame my photo taking skills for any confusion. :p

Might have to do the acid treatment...but there's a better way.
Actually, wrapping the rusty bodies in a white vinegar soaked terrycloth towel, then sealing it with Saran Wrap (plastic food wrap, sorry) for 2 days, check it, maybe re-wrap for a third day.
My '37 crankshaft took 3 days, rust was blackened into ash, came right off with a soap-and-water rinse!
Try it, and read the 'Griffen'.

You're welcome. I use it a lot, for most things rusty...works better than molasses.
When reading your 'header', I mistook this for practical signals...You know, guy in a bar, gal shoots some 'signals'...I used to be pretty good at reading those...but there were exceptions, occasionally...
