Hey guys, I need some help identifying this old Hilborn setup . I was thinking it was Ford FE stuff, but the number on the injector rail looks like hemi stuff, but the timing cover/pump plate say Ford, Any ideas ? Thanks ...
Looks like a Chrysler unit adapted to FE, pretty famous name on the valley cover, Ermie Immerso ! You have got something special alright ! https://www.google.com/search?q=erm..._mYvZAhUFxmMKHZyUC48QBQgkKAA&biw=1920&bih=970
Somwhere on the injector is a stamped number, Hilborn has saved all the build sheets and can give you a copy of the original invoice/build
I emailed them the stamped numbers off of (2) small block units, they sent a reply with all of the specs the way they were shipped. They replied the next day !
The Thunderbird streamliner that Ermie had, originally ran with 4 Ford 406 engines. I will bet this is the injectors off of one of them. Chrysler casting with FE adapters. Later he put two Lycoming shaft turbines in the car. I was strapped in and waiting in line when he fired the turbines and warmed theb before making a run. Nearly gassed me out.
Thanks Rich, boy that would be something wouldnt it, Im gonna email Hilborn Monday and Ill keep this post posted to the answer ...
That's a really cool historical find. That's just awesome that Hilborn has extensive records and is so responsive and forthcoming in sharing the info.
Here is a link to the photo of one, I sold it to someone on here. Brockford ? something like that.https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachments/hilborn-injection-002-jpg.2148635/
I saw a post from this guy. [email protected] He said he owned the car now. I thought the Ferguson's owned it. You might try contacting him.
nice find for sure ! I love that Hilborn has all the records. I had a buddy that had record search done on some Hilborn stuff... and it was really neat to see all the hand written information of who and when original bought it.
