I was scanning the internet only to find this Ranchero that took my breath away, appears to be a '58 with a Hillborn Injected 427. It ran as a C/Altered and was owned by Al Dixon. (Photo by Joe Stevens, 1968 Detroit Autorama)

Does anyone else have additional pictures?

became a show rod after it was no longer competitive?? because that teardrop won't clear the stacks if you try to close the hood.

  9. I believe Al still owns the car and I've heard it will be back on the track REAL soon .

Al sold the car years ago (early 70's?) to another well known Windsor Hot Hot Rodder. He drove it on the street for a few years, sold it, bought it back again, I think, and resold it. It vanished for a number of years, during which time, someone painted it dark blue metalflake, and upholstered it with hideous blur velour. Al was able to buy it back a few years ago and it's being restored now. I'm sure it'll be nicer than it ever was when he's done with it!
