Help ID a Ford Flathead V8

I have not been a member of HAMB very long but have to say I am very impressed with the vehicles, items and people on this site. I have always loved cars but I am new to the vintage scene and would like input on a Ford Flathead V-8. I do not have much history on it but when we acquired it from the last owner we were told that it ran when pulled and it was used in a sprint car and that is why it has the welded in cooling port. I am also not sure on the exact year so any input on the cooling and year would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you.
